Fading is basically the act of joining two records together. You are able to do this through your mixer and its upfaders and crossfader. There are basically two ways you can fade between two records:
By learning how to fade, you are enabling yourself to be able to play multiple records without there being a gap in between the songs. However, if you just decide to fade two records together with out adjusting them in anyway, the transition will most likely sound pretty ugly. In the next few sections you will learn how to beatmatch, blend and cut two different records together which will make the transitions sound so much more synchronized and better. Your goal is to make a transition between two songs without the audience really noticing.
